2012 in review or Happy New Years!

First off, to those that have read and visited my blog, THANK YOU!  Yes, I’m shouting.

Below is the end of the year report that detail where you are all from, how many times you visited, or if you have been naughty or nice.

Enjoy!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 10,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 17 years to get that many views.

Day 292, just a glass of water..

Blog time, post Monday night lacrosse is usually a double of the current rum de’ jour and occasionally a small snack. Tonight? Just water, no rum and no snack. The temperatures here on the East Coast went through the roof (as it were) today. We hit the mid 80’s. My brother reported that the official high for the day in Central Park was 88 degrees. Not even close to the record which is 92 degrees set in 2002. Go figure.

We were short-handed tonight playing lacrosse. Usually we play three attack, three midfielders, three defense and a goalies. Today we played two  attack,  two defense and three midfielders. Somewhere (not in Robbinsville) were all the guys from last week. It was pretty hot in the field house.  I played the entire hour on attack. The line score from me… One goal, no assists, three shots that missed the goal and more passes caught than dropped. And I hit the turf twice, ouch. My feet like to get tangled when I change direction and am running at my full speed.  All in all, a good night.

My DW had a frustrating day. Her patients were fine, one of her co-workers knows how to push her buttons. And she did today. Why can’t we all get along?  She went to yoga tonight to “re-center” herself. She was sleeping when I got home. My work was busy, emails, texts and phone calls right at 8:30 when the “doors open”. We have doors, but they don’t open in the sense that people actually come to the office with their problems.  The afternoon was fine.

Children, DS1 had class and delivered pizzas. DS2 tweeted about the lovely weather in Scranton today. DS3, had PT and various classes. I did not hear from him at all. I will track him down tomorrow or Wednesday to see what is up with him.

Tonight’s picture is  from Sunday’s Funny Paper. This was the Mother Goose and Grimm from 4/15/2012. Enjoy!

Beware the Ides of Spam while reading post 112..

One of the odder things about writing a blog is that you get spammed. I guess there are programs that troll the Word Press domain and “leave comments” about your blog. The spammers are getting more consistent at commenting than the actual readers!  I just shrug my shoulders. Fortunately the word press people have spam filters so all the crap collects. Than one day you can click here and there and flush! them down the digital drain. I cleaned out the lint trap of spam yesterday and already today I have nine new spam comments!  Maybe the more that you write, the more spam you will attract. I will let you know if the spam rate increases over the next few months.

I did got play lacrosse last night with my brother up in northern New Jersey. 85 miles each way! Straight up the GSP onto 78 get off in Summit. The field is about five minutes from the hospital in Summit.  I played attack again this week. As you may or may not know, I have played primarily defense for the last seven years. I have been playing attack for about three months. The group that plays in Summit consists of  some of the guys I used to play with in Randolph. I haven’t played there in three years. The drive there is 110 miles each way. I did that for five years straight. Enough is enough.

It was good to see some of the old faces. I had one goal, hit the goalie twice, missed the goal completely four or five times. The part that bothered me the most (other than missing the goal completely) was missing five or so passes that if caught would have been scoring opportunities. I will have to as DS3 said to me today, “practice and focus, Dad”. Coaching from the college freshman. Ok, I get the point.  I will hopefully play better next week.

Tonight was yoga with my DW at the adult school. Not too tough, but the guided meditation at the end is always my favorite part. It helps after a stressful day to lie still in the semi darkness and work on your breathing.  Work was nuts, had a Dilbert meeting moment to end the day. Talk in a circle, no beginning and no end.  Waste of time. I think it may be time to dust off the resume and get looking at Dice or Monster. As we say, a work in progress.

Children, DS1 got a Black Berry for his replacement phone. He seems happy with it so far. DS2 has been practicing his many musical instruments over the last few days. He seems to be getting back into the swing of things. He has called this fall break a “working vacation” DS3 is back on campus after living with his roommates family for the weekend. He said the family lives in the middle of nowhere. Go past Clarks Summit and disappear off the map. He had a good time. Now he is ready to get back to his studies and ROTC.

Tonight picture came from the Asbury Park Press comic section today. Copyrighted, I’m sure. Used here without the permission of either the artist or the Asbury Park Press for the sole enjoyment of me.

Namaste.
