Row me home to Juliette o’ post 163..

The title comes from a Scott Kirby song. That song can be heard/seen  by clicking here. Scott is a musician that we found via Radio Margaritaville. I have seen him perform a few times in Key West. My DW and I have seen him in NJ and at the Rams Head in Annapolis, Md.  We hope to get to Key West in January to see Scott at his new bar/restaurant, The Smokin’ Tuna Saloon.

My DW got great news at the end of her work day today. No, it was not that she could save a bundle by switching to another car insurance company. Back in October she started working on some paperwork to document her abilities and her exceptional nursing skills. The program is called Clinical Advancement and Recognition of Excellence.  The hospital calls it the CARE program. Of the 250 nurses working in the hospital, my DW was one of fifty that went through the steps to considered for the CARE program. The CARE program has three levels, Scholar, Resource and Fellow. The Scholar level is the highest level that can be achieved.

She turned in her paperwork last week and did not expect to hear about the outcome of the peer review committee until after holidays. At the end of the work day today, the union president (a fellow nurse) came by the unit and gave my DW her results letter. She was accepted into the CARE program at the Scholar level. She was so excited today when I picked her up from work. Since I was working from home today, I played chauffeur today. The really good upside is that she gets paid more money for reaching this milestone. The paperwork she did was a good warmup for the Masters classes that are starting next month. I am really proud of her.

DS3 in his Class A uniform

today. He received his Class A uniform today. They had an award ceremony for the older cadets and he was wearing his Class A uniform for the first time.  He really looks like he is in the Army now.

DS2 continued taking his finals. He is looking forward to being done for the semester. We took care of a few more of the paperwork details for his surgery next week.  DS1 called to congratulate his mom on her accomplishment. She got to talk to him for a few minutes before he had to go. The other two boys texted their congratulations.  We will see them in person this weekend when DS2 has his Christmas concert.

My older sister keeps telling me about dog yoga. I’m thinking that I will just have to give it a try!
