Full speed ahead yo 142 (post)..

On with the adventure or as the magnet on my DW’s work locker says “The beatings will continue until morale improves”. This sticker that she mounted on a magnet can be found in most southern tourist shops that sell things with a pirates motif. This particular  one came from the BVI.  It has been a long time since we went to the Virgin Islands. With the three children in school, soon to be two children and one parent, it will be quite a bit longer until we get back. I do play a dollar lottery ticket now and then. What do they say in New York? A dollar and a dream. LOL

Not much to report about this Thursday in New Jersey. DS3 sent this picture

from his school. It looks like they are already working on their Christmas decorations. The picture looks like it was taken on the patio outside the DeNaples Center near the Donner Green.  I spoke briefly with DS2 about the weekend. I will write about the weekend Saturday or Sunday night. Hopefully I will be able to play in the Marywood captain’s practice Saturday afternoon. I will bring my gear.

Speaking of Scranton, or for that matter either of the cities that our children are living in, do you read the newspaper online? I read several papers each day online. I read the newspapers from Scranton, Wheeling, St. Thomas, Key West, Fort Myers, Fl, and Spaceweather.com. In the Scranton paper there have been articles about robberies and break ins at houses rented by students at the University of Scranton. Just this weekend there was an armed robbery in a house near the college. Reading the paper today it seems that four students from Lackawanna College were arrested for the robbery. Hmmm. Then later in the day a 15-year-old Scranton High School reported being beaten by four girls dressed in Lackawanna College sweats. What’s happening up there? Way too crazy. I am sure that my children are safe, but reading this kind of stuff is disconcerting.

Work continues to be busy for both of us parental units. My job will take a slight turn next week since most of our customers will be too busy to be upgraded or to have major software changes done. This means I will be thrown into the pool of general support. Oh boy!  Maybe I will use the next week to set up my new office and move. It will be an excuse to duck the support manager. Shhh don’t repeat that thought. I will deny any knowledge of that statement.

Let’s wrap up with a picture from early May when my DW and some of her friends from high school got together for a girls weekend down the shore. Here they are at a wine tasting in Smithville, NJ. Enjoy!

Namaste

As for papers, I read the SF Chronicle and Washington Post (or at least what I find interesting) each day. Also when I’m bored, I’ll hit the Google News button and see what pops up.
