103 (post) is a happy number, really!..

I was looking for some inspiration tonight for the title of today’s post. The title should be witty, interesting, confrontational or “something” that will draw the reader’s attention. I did a Google search for the number 103. It turns out that there are “Happy Numbers” and “Sad Numbers” Who would have thought? Wikipedia defines a Happy Number this way “A happy number is defined by the following process. Starting with any positive integer, replace the number by the sum of the squares of its digits, and repeat the process until the number equals 1 (where it will stay), or it loops endlessly in a cycle which does not include 1. Those numbers for which this process ends in 1 are happy numbers, while those that do not end in 1 are unhappy numbers.  It must be fun to make this stuff up! That is how tonight’s blog got it’s title. How bizarre.

Sunday evening is upon us. My DW and I had a fairly quiet day on the ranch. We started the day with Bananas Foster pancakes. I followed the original bananas foster recipe but instead of serving it over ice cream (that would make a good breakfast) we serve it over pancakes. With the flavors and the soft warm bananas, no extra butter or maple syrup are necessary. After breakfast we went food shopping for the week. It is amazing how we can seem to buy nothing yet spend 150.00. No meat, no soda, no cereal, no milk, eggs or cheese. We did buy some Alaskan cod fillet for dinner. The cod fillets at the fish market look terrible. The grouper at the fish market looked exceptional. The grouper was 14.99 and the cod was 7.99 per pound. We had cod fillet tonight.

After food shopping we ate lunch then worked in the boy’s room upstairs. We put the bunk beds together to make more room. We cleaned under the beds and dressers. We found an expired Visa gift card with 25 dollars on it and about two dollars worth of change. I called the gift card people and they will send a replacement card out to the house, no charge.  After out cleanup work we watched some football on tv. I found the perfect program to watch today. On our cable channel they have a program called NFL Red Zone where they promise to show every scoring play of every game. For an hour I watched the high points of eight games. And there are no commercials. This is the perfect channel for the causal fan (with ADHD I think), since you miss the nonsense of the game and get all the highlights. Usually Sunday (or Saturday) football is an excuse to take a nap with the TV on.

Like I wrote above we had cod for dinner, fish and chips style. Yum, yum. Children, Oldest child’s roommate had his birthday yesterday so the boys were out last night for sure. He spoke with my DW for a few minutes, but I think it may have been too early in the day for that conversation. DS2 played his horn at mass this morning. DS3 I woke around noontime with a text. I’m not sure what he did with his day today. Hopefully they got outside in the gorgeous weather.

For the picture round-up we have two things tonight. Friday afternoon on the boat I shot a short video. You can see that video by clicking here. The other part is a picture from DS3’s JR ROTC Ball in April 2011 while he was still in high school. He is the guy in the center holding up is now ex-girl friend. The guys in the picture are a few of his good friends from high school.

Namaste
